AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING

The main features of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering(AME) course approved by DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) conducted by College of Aeronautical Engineering are as follows: The course consists of 2400 hours program divided into 6 semesters. This includes theoretical training and practical training. Out of total practical training 30% of the practical training hours will be carried out in CAR 145 Maintenance Organizations i.e. Actual Environment Training (AET) for all B1.1, B2 and B1.3 categories. The remaining practical training (70%) will be carried out in various labs and on Inhouse aircrafts placed in CAE Aircraft Hangar. The practical task will cover the subject knowledge of aircraft systems. Students will be issued with Certificate of Recognition (C of R) on successful completion of training course along with the Semester Examination.

B.Tech + AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering) refers to integrated undergraduate programs that combine a Bachelor of Technology degree with the practical, DGCA-approved training needed to get an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license, offering dual expertise in aircraft design, operation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul for careers in the growing aviation sector. These four-year courses cover aircraft structures, engines, avionics, and regulations, preparing graduates for roles with airlines, MROs, and manufacturers, ensuring airworthiness and safety. Earn a B.Tech degree (often in Aeronautical Engineering) and an AME license simultaneously. Blends advanced engineering theory (aerodynamics, propulsion) with hands-on maintenance skills, covering the entire aircraft lifecycle. Includes extensive lab work, workshops, and adherence to aviation regulations (like DGCA in India) for practical certification.
